An American software engineer. He with others introduced the idea of pattern languages into the field of software. Also the inventor of the online collaborative editing system – the “Wiki” – he allowed software engineers in remote places to write codes together. He is also the founder of a pattern language community – the Hillside Group – and its still-ongoing Pattern Language of Program (PLoP) conferences. ideas of Extreme Programming (XP) and agile programming were also proposed by him.
